KWSB 50th Anniversary of 1st Broadcast
On Friday, January 26th, KWSB celebrates its 50th anniversary! Western's student-run FM radio station hit the air waives on January 26th, 1968 and has never stopped broadcasting, aside from technical repairs. KWSB will host an open house from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., Jan 26 with birthday cake and beverages, which the community is welcome to attend (KWSB is located in room 124, Taylor Hall). The big party, however, will be during 2018 Homecoming (Oct 5&6), when the station will do a two-day program and welcome back hundred(s?) of KWSB-ites alumni.

The community's support of KWSB has never faltered and the management team surely thank you and entities in the valley. Through thick and thin, KWSB is the oldest student-run college radio station in Colorado, we are arguably the best equipped college station within the $800,000 Taylor Media Center, we are the most decorated college station (Colorado Broadcasters Association Awards) competing against small-market, commercial stations across the state, and we are the oldest, continuous-running radio station in the Gunnison Valley. Here's to another 50 years and 3000+ volunteers/djs/managers!
